How Much Does an Inground Pool Cost in Oklahoma City? (2026 Guide)

Custom pool with an arched fountain wall glowing at night, built by Leo’s Pools

If you’re planning a backyard pool in Oklahoma City, Edmond or Nichols Hills, the first question is almost always the same: what will it actually cost? The honest answer depends on the type of pool, its size and everything you build around it — but the ranges are more predictable than most homeowners expect.

As an Oklahoma City pool builder, Leo’s Pools designs and builds custom gunite, fiberglass, vinyl liner and insulated pools across the metro. The prices in this guide come straight from our current pricing, so you can see real numbers instead of national averages that don’t reflect building in central Oklahoma.

The short answer

An inground pool from Leo’s Pools ranges from about $29,800 for an insulated pool to $300,000 and up for a fully custom gunite build.

Custom Gunite$100,000 – $300,000+Fully custom, any shape

Vinyl Liner$41,460 – $62,100Starting prices by shape and size

Fiberglass, vinyl liner and insulated prices are starting prices that include standard installation. Fiberglass and spillover spa shells start at $14,200.

Inground pool prices by type

Custom gunite pools: $100,000 to $300,000+

Gunite is the fully custom option. The pool is formed on site from steel and sprayed concrete, so it can take any shape, depth or layout — built-in benches, integrated spas, sweeping freeform curves or crisp geometric lines. Most of our gunite projects land in one of four tiers: $100,000 to $150,000, $150,000 to $200,000, $200,000 to $300,000, and $300,000 and up.

Where a project lands depends on its size, the features you add and the finishes you select. Because every gunite pool is designed from scratch, it’s where most of our work as a luxury pool builder in Oklahoma City happens — pools designed around the home, the yard and the way a family actually uses its outdoor space. See how our custom gunite builds come together.

Fiberglass pools: $52,550 to $83,200

Fiberglass pools start as a factory-built shell, which makes their pricing the most predictable of any pool type. Across our current lineup, fiberglass shells start between $52,550 and $83,200, and each starting price includes standard installation. The shell and size you choose set the base price; color, a tanning ledge, an attached spa and other add-ons build from there.

Fiberglass is a strong fit for homeowners who want a smooth, low-maintenance surface and a quick installation. Browse every fiberglass shell with sizes and starting prices.

Vinyl liner pools: $41,460 to $62,100

Vinyl liner pools are a budget-friendly path to a true inground pool. They’re built on site in a range of shapes and sizes, then finished with a custom-fit liner available in dozens of patterns. Our vinyl liner shapes start between $41,460 for a 12' × 24' oval and $62,100 for a 20' × 40' layout. Compare every vinyl liner shape and size.

Insulated pools: $29,800 to $49,960

Insulated pools are engineered to hold their temperature, which helps stretch the swim season on both ends — a real advantage on cool Oklahoma spring and fall evenings. They’re also the most affordable pool type we build, with shapes starting at $29,800. See our insulated pool shapes.

What changes the final price of a pool

Two pools of the same type can land far apart in price. These are the factors that move the number most:

  • Size and depth. More surface area and water volume mean more excavation, material and equipment.
  • Shape and design details. Custom steps, benches and freeform layouts take more labor than a simple rectangle.
  • Tanning ledges and sun shelves. A shallow lounging area is a popular addition, especially for families with young kids and anyone who wants to cool off without swimming.
  • Spas. An attached or spillover spa adds year-round use. Fiberglass spa shells start at $14,200, and integrated gunite spas are designed and priced with the pool.
  • Water and fire features. Sheer descents, scuppers, bubblers, waterfalls and fire bowls add movement and drama. See the spas and water features we build.
  • Decking and coping. The surface around the pool can be a significant share of the budget, and material choice — concrete, pavers or natural stone — changes it quickly.
  • Lighting and automation. LED lighting and app-controlled equipment add convenience and evening ambiance.
  • Your site. Equipment access, slope, drainage and soil all matter. Much of the metro sits on clay-heavy soil that swells and shrinks with moisture, so excavation and base preparation deserve real attention.
  • Fencing and safety. Most cities require a compliant safety barrier around a pool, so plan for it from the start.

Building a pool in Oklahoma City, Edmond and Nichols Hills

Oklahoma City

Lots across Oklahoma City range from compact suburban yards to multi-acre properties, so pool designs here vary as much as the neighborhoods do. Inground pools typically go through the city’s permitting and inspection process; the City of Oklahoma City is the place to confirm current requirements, and any builder you consider should explain how permits and inspections are handled.

Edmond

Many Edmond neighborhoods have homeowners association guidelines in addition to city rules, which can affect setbacks, fencing and equipment placement. Check both before finalizing a design — the City of Edmond publishes its building requirements — and work with a pool builder in Edmond who will design within them from the first sketch.

Nichols Hills

Established homes, mature trees and distinctive architecture shape pool design in Nichols Hills. Protecting root zones, planning equipment access through tighter side yards and matching materials to the home all factor into both the design and the cost. The City of Nichols Hills has its own building requirements, and choosing a Nichols Hills pool builder who designs around the home makes the whole process smoother.

Beyond these three, Leo’s Pools builds across the metro, including Gaillardia, Norman, Yukon and Arcadia.

Plan the whole backyard, not just the pool

A pool rarely stands alone. Decking, shade, an outdoor kitchen, a fire feature and landscaping all shape how the space feels and how often you use it — and they cost less to plan together than to add piece by piece later. Leo’s Pools is part of the same family as Leo’s Outdoor Living, so pavilions, outdoor kitchens and fire features can be designed alongside your pool from the first drawing. Even if you build in phases, a complete plan keeps utilities, drainage and access in the right place for what comes next.

How to get an accurate price for your pool

  1. Decide how you’ll use it. Lap swimming, entertaining, lounging on a sun shelf or keeping kids busy all summer each point toward different shapes, depths and features.
  2. Set a working range for the whole project. Include decking, fencing, lighting and landscaping, not just the pool itself.
  3. Choose a pool type. If you already lean fiberglass, vinyl liner or insulated, our catalog pages show every shell and shape with its starting price.
  4. Get a design-based proposal. For a custom pool, the fastest route to a real number is a consultation with a custom pool builder in OKC. Every Leo’s Pools gunite build is priced to its design, and your consultation includes an exact proposal.

Frequently asked questions

Is a fiberglass pool cheaper than a gunite pool in Oklahoma?

At the starting point, usually yes. Our fiberglass shells start between $52,550 and $83,200 with standard installation, while custom gunite projects typically begin around $100,000. Gunite costs more because every pool is formed on site to a custom design, which is also what lets it take any shape, depth or feature you want.

How much does it cost to add a spa to a pool?

Fiberglass spa and spillover spa shells start at $14,200. For a custom gunite pool, an integrated spa is designed together with the pool and priced as part of your proposal.

Do I need a permit to build a pool in Oklahoma City or Edmond?

In most cases, yes. Cities across the metro generally require permits and inspections for inground pools, along with a safety barrier that meets local code. Requirements vary by city, so confirm the current rules with the City of Oklahoma City, the City of Edmond or the City of Nichols Hills before you build.

Does Leo’s Pools build in Edmond and Nichols Hills?

Yes. Leo’s Pools designs and builds pools across Oklahoma City, Edmond, Nichols Hills, Gaillardia, Norman, Yukon, Arcadia and the surrounding metro.

What’s included in your starting prices?

Our fiberglass, vinyl liner and insulated starting prices include standard installation for the shell or shape and size you choose. Options such as spas, tanning ledges, water features, upgraded decking and add-ons are priced on top of that starting point.
